Logs – Coniferous

Lumber – Coniferous

  • Import Permit is required ( see Note below re: HT Lumber Option)
  • Four options:
    • Green lumber – moisture content <20%: – Phytosanitary Certificate with additional declaration: “The lumber in this shipment was officially inspected and was found to have a moisture content less than 20%”
    • Green lumber moisture content >20%; – Phytosanitary Certificate. (Note: Fumigation by Phosphine at origin; – or Methyl bromide or Phosphine at Port of entry) required); CCA treatment may be accepted – Contact CFIA for details.
    • KD lumber: – Industry-issued Certificate is required. If an Industry-issued Certificate is not available, a Phytosanitary Certificate with an additional declaration: “The lumber in this shipment was officially inspected and was found to have a moisture content less than 20%”
    • HT Lumber – accompanied with an HT Certificate as an option to a phtytosanitary certificate can be option for a shipment with lumber that has been treated under the registered CHTWPCP program.  Check with CFIA to determine whether or not an Import Permit may be first required.  Alternatively you can suggest your importer/buyer check with Mexico’s plant health authority and request for a decision as to whether or not an Import Permit is required for HT certified lumber from Canada.
