Logs (Conifer)
- Import permit is required (CFIA must see import permit prior to inspecting logs as the import permit will outline the conditions/treatment options for entry)
- Phytosanitary certificate is required
- Free from bark, soil and pests
- Treatment options:
- Fumigation with methyl bromide prior to export (CFIA will not certify this product treated with methyl bromide except under exceptional circumstances. Exporter must contact CFIA prior to treatment) or;
- Fumigation with methyl bromide at port of entry at the expense of the importer. ( must be an Import Permit clause that states fumigation treatment upon arrival).

Lumber (Conifer)
- Import permit is required (CFIA must see import permit prior to inspecting lumber as the import permit will outline the conditions/treatment options for entry)
- Phytosanitary certificate is required
- Wood must be debarked and free from soil and pests and debarked to a maximum 5% residual tolerance
- Treatment options:
- Kiln drying prior to export (see Import Permit for details of time and temperature requirements of kiln drying); Moisture must be less than 20% or;
- Fumigation with methyl bromide prior to export (CFIA will not certify this product treated with methyl bromide except under exceptional circumstances. Exporter must contact CFIA prior to treatment) or;
- Fumigation with methyl bromide at port of entry at the expense of the importer. If green lumber is shipped for fumigation upon arrival in Malaysia, the import permit must indicate “treatment upon arrival” or;
- Fumigation with phosphine or;
- Fumigation with sulphuryl fluoride
