Logs OR Lumber (Phytophthora ramorum Host Products) – including but not limited to:True Firs (Abies) and Douglas Fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii). This includes the collective product mixes of SPF and Hem-Fir and Douglas Fir-Larch.

 Host Products with bark (all CANADA origin – including BC):

  • Phytosanitary Certificate with Additional Declaration stating that the logs or lumber were not harvested from an area regulated for P. ramorum, OR;
  • Phytosanitary Certificate and Heat-treated to 56 degrees C for a minimum of 30 minutes to the core

Host Products without ANY bark (all CANADA origin – including BC):

  • Phytosanitary Certificate is required

 Logs OR Lumber (Phytophthora ramorum Non-Host Products) – including, but not limited to: Spruces, Pines, or Hemlocks – without P. ramorum host species mixed in:

 Non-Host products with or without bark (BC origin):

  • Phytosanitary Certificate is required.
  • No treatment or additional declarations are required. 
  • Commercial documents accompanying the shipment must clearly indicate the origin of the lumber.

 Logs OR Lumber (all CANADA origin – including ONTARIO)

Asian long-horned beetle Host Products (species list below):

  • Phytosanitary Certificate with Additional Declaration stating that the logs or lumber were not harvested from an area regulated for Asian long-horned beetle or;
  • Phytosanitary Certificate AND heat treatment (56/30)

 Asian long-horned beetle Non-Host products (ONTARIO origin):

  • Phytosanitary Certificate is required.
  • No treatment or additional declarations are required.
  • Recommend including a letter on company letterhead declaring the counties where the logs/lumber was harvested.

 Logs OR Lumber (other than BC or ONTARIO origin) – all genera and species not regulated for Phytophthora ramorum or Asian long-horned beetle

With bark:

  • Phytosanitary Certificate

Without bark:

  • Unrestricted (ie. No Phytosanitary Certificate needed).
  • Commercial documents accompanying the shipment must clearly indicate the origin of the lumber (city (if applicable), county, province).
